Title: Equivalent potential flow numerical method for the flow field
Abstract: In this paper, equivalent potential flow as a new concept is brought forward. It means that the flow is rotational in whole field but irrotational in a local flow field. By taking into account the average energy losses in the potential flow, a new numerical method is put forward. As an example, an overfall flow is simulated as potential flow and equivalent potential flow respectively. The results indicate that the later flow is more consistent with the experimental data than the former.
