Title: Effect of candesartan combined with captopril on patients with dilated cardiomyopathy
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of candesartan combined with captopril on patients with dilated cardiomyoapathy(DCM).Methods One hundred DCM patients treated with conventional therapy(digitals,diuretics,β-blocker therapy)were randomly assigned to receive candesartan in a dose of 4~8 mg/d and captopril in a dose of 18.75~150 mg/d(observation group,n=50)or captopril in a dose of 18.75~150 mg/d alone(control group,n=50),serum electrolytes, liver and renal function and echocardiography were examined before and after therapy. Results After 6 months, treatment,LV end-diastolic volume(LVEDV),LV end-systolic volume(LVESV),left ventricular ejection(LVEF)and fraction shortening(FS)improved significantly in both groups(P0.05),but those of observation group improved more significantly than those in control group(P0.05).Serum electrolytes, liver and renal function had no obvious change in both groups before and after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Candesartan combined with captopril is more effective than captopril in treatment of DCM patients.
