Title: Content Determination of Danshensu and Protocatechuic Aldehyde in Five Species of Salvia Miltiorrhiza by HPLC
Abstract: Objective:To determine the contents of danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde in five species of Salvia miltiorrhiza. Method: The HPLC was employed. Chromatographic conditions included Kromasil column (250 mm×46 mm,5μm), the mobile phase consisted of methanol and 10 g/L acetic acid (2080), the UV detector was set at 280 nm and the flow rate was 1.0 ml/min. Result: The standard curve of Danshensu was linear within the range of 4.2~33.6 g/ml, while protocatechuic aldehyde was linear within the range of 0.36~1.8 g/ml . The lowest detectable limit of Danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde was 10.5 ng and 0.6 ng, respectively; the recovery rate was 99.36% (RSD=1.26%) and 97.54% (RSD=0.81%) , respectively. Conclusion: This method is convenient, sensitive and accurate, it is satisfactory for the quality control of Salvia miltiorrhiza; the contents of danshensu and protocatechuic aldehyde in five species of Salvia miltiorrhiza are different.
