Title: Preparation of Self-Crosslinking Waterborne Varnish Emulsion
Abstract: Water color varnish overprinting has advantages of no-toxicity,no-contamination lower cost,convenient transportations and steady quality of production. In this paper,A sort of acrylic emulsion was prepared by pre-emulsified and semi-continuous seed polymerization The effect of various reaction parameters on the emulsion and coating properties such as the proportion of soft and hard monomer,the concentration and the proportion of compound emulsifier,the concentration of function monomer,the concentration of initiator,the selection of reaction temperature,the concentration and types of protection of plastic were studied. Experimental results show that when the proportion of soft and hard monomers was 4: 5,the proportion of OP-10 and SDS was 2: 1,the amount of compound emulsifier was 3% of the monomers,2%AA,3% HEMA,the dosage of APS was 0. 5% of the monomers,the dosage of PVA1788 was 0. 175 of the monomers,the reaction temperature was78℃. Under above conditions,the acrylic emulsion was obtained with good stability and higher monomer conversion and lower gel rate. Using these acrylic emulsion for paper coating,paper gloss and water resistance were significantly improved.
