Title: The diagnostic value of serum cystatin C in the mild and moderate renal injury
Abstract: Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of serum cystatin C(Cys C)in mild and moderate kidney damage patients. Methods The serum of clinical and laboratory confirmed kidney damage patients and normal control patients were collected. The serum Cys C,β2-microglobulin(β2-MG),serum creatinine(SCr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),uric acid(UA)were measured, and the creatinine clearance rate(CCR)was calculated.According the glomerular filtration rate(GFR),the patients were divided into three groups. The relevance of the various markers with kidney damage was investigated. Results Cys C,β2-MG was negatively correlated with GFR.The serum BUN,UA only began to increase when the kidney had a moderate damage. However, the Cys C had increased apparently when the conventional renal function indicators did not change. The differences between the two groups was statistically significant. Conclusion The serum Cys C can be more sensitive to specifically reflect the early kidney damage,it is a ideal diagnostic indicators of mild to moderate kidney damage.
