Title: Analysis of Medication Rule in Coronary Heart Disease Literature from South of the Five Ridge During Recent 20 Years
Abstract: Objective To investigate the medication rule in coronary heart disease(CHD) literature from south of the five ridges.Methods Syndrome distribution and medication rule for CHD were summarized and analyzed by investigating clinical research literature about traditional Chinese medicine in South of the Five Ridges issued from the year of 1990 to 2010.Results(1) The distribution of traditional Chinese medical syndrome patterns: In 125 articles,CHD patients with the following syndrome patterns had top 8 case frequency,they were in the descending order,and they were Qi deficiency and blood stasis,phlegm blockage in the heart vessels due to Qi deficiency and blood stasis,heart blood stagnation due to deficiency of both Qi and yin,heart blood stagnation,Qi stagnation and blood stasis,phlegm blockage in the heart vessels and heart blood stagnation,deficiency of both Qi and yin,and phlegm blockage in heart vessels.The following syndrome elements were in descending case frequency sequence,and they were blood stasis,Qi deficiency,phlegm turbidity,yin deficiency,yang deficiency,Qi stagnation,cold stagnation,and heat toxicity.(2) The general distribution of Chinese herbal medicine: the top five categories of Chinese herbal medicine were blood-activating and stasis-removing herbs,tonifying herbs,Qi-regulating herbs,phlegm-removing herbs,and exterior-relieving herbs.The top ten kinds of commonly-used herbs were Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae,Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Radix Astragali,Radix Angelicae Sinensis,Radix Paeoniae Rubra,Radix Glycyrrhizae,Fructus Trichosanthis,Flos Carthami,Radix Notoginseng,and Bulbus Allii Macrostemonis.(3) The medication distribution of Chinese herbal medicine for individual syndrome patterns: modified Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction was indicated for heart blood stagnation syndrome,modified Buyang Huanwu Decoction for Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction for Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,modified Gualou Xiebai Banxia Decoction for phlegm blockage in heart vessels,modified Gualou Xiebai Baijiu Decoction for cold stagnation syndrome,modified Shengmai Powder for deficiency of both Qi and yin,modified Zuogui Decoction for deficiency of heart-kidney yin,and modified Shenfu Decoction for yang and Qi deficiency.Conclusion The medication rule in coronary heart disease(CHD) literature from south of the five ridges is shown as extensive usage of modified ancient prescription based on syndrome differentiation.
