Title: Determination of Trace Chromium (VI) by Dual-Wavelength Negative Catalytic Kinetic Spectroobotometry
Abstract: A new dual-wavelength dual-indicator negative catalytic kinetic spectrophoto-metric method for determination of trace chromium ( Ⅵ) was estab-lished based on the negative catalytic effect of trace chromium ( Ⅵ) on the oxidation of acridine red and crystal violet by KBrO, in H2SO4 solution. The absorbances of the catalyzed and non-cata-lyzed systems at 530 nm and 620 nm were measured. Results indi-cate that trace Cr( Ⅵ) can be determined in a linear range of 0.04 ~0.24 μg/mL and at a detection limit of 7.8×10-9g/L under the optimum conditions. The present method is simple in terms of operation and has a high sensitivity as well, and can be feasibly ap-plied to satisfactorily determine trace Cr(Ⅵ).
