Title: Dual-indicator catalytic spectrophotometry for determination of trace nickel
Abstract: A new dual-wavelength dual-indicator catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace nickel(Ⅱ) was studied. This method was based on the fact that Ni2+ can catalyze the oxidation of acridine red and indigo carmine by KIO4 in NH3·H2O solution. The absorbance of the catalytic and uncatalytic systems at 530 nm and 610 nm were measured.Under the optimum conditions, the mass concentration of nickel in the range of 0~0.04 μg/mL showed a linear relationship with ΔA(ΔA=ΔA530+ΔA610).The linear regression equation was ΔA = 17.10 ρNi2+(μg/mL)-0.001 1 with correlation coefficient of 0.997 2,and the detection limit was 0.061 μg/L.The method had been applied to determine trace Ni2+ in alloy samples, and the results were blasically consistent with that of standard sample.
