Title: Influence of inversion time on brain perfusion imaging using arterial spin labeling
Abstract: Objective To investigate the influence of inversion time(TI) on brain perfusion imaging using arterial spin labeling (ASL) technique. Methods The perfusion-weighted MR imaging with ASL in the different TI values of 1600,1800,2000 and 2200 ms was performed in 13 healthy dogs. The difference of magnetic signal between the control image and the tagged image(ΔM) was measured in different TI values, respectively. The quality of the immages was eveluated. ResultsDifferent TI values had varied effects on the ΔM of the white matter, but had no significant effects on the gray matter. The values of ΔM of the white matter were 20.78±1.16,25.95±1.23 and 11.40±1.26 for the TI values of 1600,1800 and 2200 ms,respectively(P0.05). Conclusion Different TI values in a certain range affect the perfusion-weighted MR imaging of the white matter.TI value of 1800 ms may be an optimal choice for brain perfusion-weighted imaging with ASL technique in dogs.
