Title: Study on the relationship between expression of CD147 and lymphatic metastasis in oral squamous cell carcinomas
Abstract: Objective To explore the relationships between CD147 expression, lymphatic metastasis and clinical pathologic characteristics in oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC). Methods Divide the 61 cases of OSCC into several groups according to lymphatic metastasis, sex, age, tumour size, and TNM stages. Immunohistochemistry SP method was performed to measure the situation of CD147 expression. Chi-square test and linear correlation was applied to do statisticsed processing . Results The percentage of positive CD147 was 86.9% in OSCC. In lymphatic metastasis positive group CD147 positive expression (93.5% ) was significantly higher than that of lymphatic metastasis negative group (80.0%) (P0.01). The CD147 expression did not show any correlation with sex, age, and tumour size (r = 0.074、0.173、0.129,P0.05),but showed significant correlation with the TNM stages (r = 0.539,P0.01);as the TNM stages increased,CD147 positive expression became significantly higher. Conclusion OSCC could express CD147, and influence lymphatic metastasis in OSCC. The present results suggest that the patients with increased expression of CD147 without lymphatic metastasis have strong tendency of lymphatic metastasis, and even have possible lymphatic micrometastasis.
