Title: A clinical Observation of therapeutic effect of intravenous injection of erythromycin for gastrointestinal motility disorder of premature infants
Abstract: Objective To compare clinical therapeutic effect of erythromycin and conventional management on premature infants with gastrointestinal motility disorder. Methods 61 premature infants with gastrointestinal motility disorder admitted to our hospital were selected and randomly divided into erythromycin group and conventional management group according to the odd day or even day when the premature infants was born. The premature infants in the conventional management group were discontinuously fed formula milk powder through a gastric tube and those in the erythromycin group were administered additional erythromycin by intravenous injection at the same time on the basis of conventional management(20rag·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)for first three days ,after 3 days the dose of erythromycin was lowered to 3rag·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)). Results The effective rate and total effective rate in erythromycin group were 41.38%(12/29)and 86.21%(25/29 respectively, while those in the control group were 9.38%(3/32)and 43.75%(14/32)respectively,there were significant differences ( both P<0. 05). And the volume of milk intake per day of the premature infants in erythromycin group during the treatment was 115.78±26.64 mL/kg,and that of the premature infants in the control group was 101.16±26.04mL/kg,there was significant difference (P<0.05). During the treatment,no adverse effects of therapeutic dose of erythromycin on infantile liver function were observed. Conclusion For those premature infants with gastrointestinal motility disorder, erythromycin can promote gastrointestinal motility and Improve the feeding tolerance.
