Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of mecobalamin on diabetic neuropathy by intra muscular.Methods 30patients with diabetic mellitus,who had got neuropathic symptoms and discharge in knee jerk,were t...Objective To investigate the effect of mecobalamin on diabetic neuropathy by intra muscular.Methods 30patients with diabetic mellitus,who had got neuropathic symptoms and discharge in knee jerk,were treated with mecobalamin 500μg intramuscularly one time per day for four weeks.The motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity of the left peronaeus communis nerve was observed before and after the treatment.Results Four weeks after the treatment,sign ificant increase in the motor and sen sory nerve conduction velocity of th e left peronaeus communis nerve were observed in the 30patients(P0.05).The symptoms disappeared in 20%patients,obviously improved in40%and improved in 33.3%.60%patien ts got their knee jerk back.No obviou s side effects were found.Conclusions Mecobalamin can increase the nerve conduction veloc ity by intramuscular and be effectiv e to diabetic neuropathy with no side effect.Read More
