Title: The value of Color Doppler Ultrasonography in diagnosis of Budd-Chiair Syndrome
Abstract: Objective To study the color Doppler imaging characteristics in different types of Budd-Chiair Syndrome(BCS) and to assess its value in diagnosis of BCS.Methods The characteristics of two-dimension and color Doppler imaging were analyzed retrospectively in 48 patients with BCS,who were all confirmed by angiography or surgery. The accuracy was calculated. Results In 48 patients with BCS,the obstruction of liver vein was found in 8 cases, the obstruction of inferior venae cava in 21 cases and both in 15 cases. The accuracy of color Doppler imaging was 91.7%(44/48).The accessory hepatic vein, inferior right hepatic vein and ascending lumbar vein were common collateral circulations. And caudate lobe hypertrophy was the most common indirect sign(42/48).Conclusion Color Doppler imaging can diagnose different types of BCS exactly, especially in detection of collateral circulations, which should be the initial diagnosis procedure for Budd-Chiari syndrome.
