Title: Clinical Effect Comparison of Calcium Hydroxide and Formocresol in Root Canal Disinfection
Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of calcium hydroxide and formocresol on root canal disinfection. Methods: 160 patients(offending teeth) were randomly divided into two groups, and then one group of 80 cases was delivered calcium hydroxide and the other group was delivered formocresol as a root canal disinfectant. As a result,anti-inflammatory and analgesic were observed after intracanal medicament. Results: The effective rate was 91.25% in hydroxide calcium group, and it was 76.25% in has only 76.25%.There were statistically significant differences(P0.05).Conclusion: Hydroxide calcium as a root canal disinfectant in anti-inflammatory pain is better than traditional formocresol.Hydroxide calcium could promote the absorption of inflammation and healing of periapical lesions in root canal, which should be widely applied in clinic treatment.
