Title: Epidemiological characteristics of Influenza A(H1N1) among students in Zhejiang Province during 2009
Abstract: Objective To explore the epidemiological characteristics of Novel Influenza A(H1N1) among students in Zhejiang Province to provide scientific references for its control and prevention.Methods Descriptive epidemiological analyses were employed to study cases of Novel Influenza A(H1N1) and its cluster epidemics in Zhejiang province during year 2009 through China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention.Results Cases of Novel Influenza A(H1N1) among students accounted for 44.20%(217/491) to 78.70%(532/676) of total cases in each city of Zhejiang Province.Up to 91.23%(52/57) cluster epidemics of Novel Influenza A(H1N1) broke out in schools.The hospitalization rate and case fatality rate of Novel Influenza A(H1N1) among students were 16.05%(1 188/7 402) and 0.027%(2/7 402) respectively.The pandemic firstly peaked during September 9 to 11 with 67 new cases attacked each day.With further spread of the pandemic,it finally reached a new peak during November 21-23,which was 2.91 times stronger than the first peak.And then the pandemic became weaker and weaker gradually.Conclusion Students are one of the most important populations for disease control and prevention against Novel Influenza A(H1N1) especially for cluster epidemics.
