Abstract: It's of no doubt that reading is a crucial part in learning a foreign language.The schemata related to reading are generally classified into three types: formal schema,content schema and language schema.To apply schema theory to Japanese teaching,teachers need to help students obtain a complete idea of schema,activate their knowledge structure of schema,and comprehend the framework of a reading passage with the application of formal schema.
