Title: Catalytic Synthesis of Aspirin with Sodium Acetate
Abstract: Catalytic synthesis of Aspirin over pretreated sodium acetate using salicylic acid and acetic anhydride as starting materials. The results showed when the amount of salicylic acid was 3.0 g, acetic anhydride 6 mL, sodium acetace3%(wt% of salicylic acid and acetic anhydride),55 ℃ reaction for 50 min,the yield of purified Aspirin was 81.9%.The product is characterized by IR and NMR spectrometry. The effects of dose catalyst-to-crude ratio, reaction temperature and reaction time on the yield of Aspirin are discussed.
