Title: Synthesis and characterization of 2,6-naphthalenedithiol
Abstract: A new synthetic approach to 2,6-naphthalenedithiol was reported. Sodium 2,6-naphthalenedisulfonate were used as reactants. The effects of the molar ratio of material, reaction temperature, refluxing time, purity of the reagent and the discharge of hydrochloride were investigated. Results show that 2,6-naphthalene-disulfonyl chloride is obtained when the reaction temperature is 110?℃ and that 2,6-naphthalenedithiol can be well-obtained under following optimized conditions i.e. the reaction temperature of 70?℃ and releasing hydrochloride from beginning to end, with the yield of more than 80%. The structure of 2,6-naphthalenedithiol was characterized by IR,~ 1H-NMR spectrum and elementary analysis.
