Title: DETERMINATION OF THE LOVE NUMBER k-2 OF WAVES M_f AND M_m IN SOLID EARTH TIDE ——THE RESULTS FROM SPACE GEODESY
Abstract: In this paper, it is discussed how to use two different methods, i.e. the length of day (LOD) method and satellite orbit perturbation (SOP) method to study the long period solid Earth tide Love number k 2. The results show that, the LOD method yields k 2= 0.3032 + i0.0028(M f),0.3026+ i0.0012(M m); and the SOP method gives k 2=0.3083- i0.0100(M f),0.3014- i 0.0010( M m). These values agree well with those of the recent solid Earth tide theories. Furthermore, the results are closer to the inelastic solid Earth tide model than the elastic model. This manifests that precise determination of long period Love number can provide an important constraint to theories of Earth tide and Earth mantle inelasticity.
