Title: Expression and Clinical Significance of p16 Gene in Cholangiocarcinoma
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of p16 in cholangiocarcinoma. Methods Supersensitive S-P immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of p16 proteins in 38 cases of cholangiocarcinoma and 8 cases of biliary cyst. Results The positive rates of p16 were 57.89% in cholangiocarcinoma and 100% in biliary cyst. p16 positive expression rates in cholangiocarcinoma were significantly lower than those in biliary cyst (P0.05). The expression level of p16 proteins significantly correlates with tumor grade, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis (P0.05).Conclusion p16 has close relationship with tumorgenesis, progression and malignant behavior in cholangiocarci noma.
