Title: The treatment of subacute and chronic deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs, report of 43 cases
Abstract: Objective This study was to evaluate the application of Acolysis thrombectomy and the selection of IVC filter and the implantation Methods Forty three cases of subacute or chronic deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremity were included in this group We implanted IVC filter first, then did thrombectomy with Acolysis We dilated the lesions of iliac veins with balloon catheter, and or a placement of a stent At the end, we performed a temporary fistula between femoral artery and vein Results This procedure was successful in 35 cases Balloon dilation was performed in 33 cases with iliac vein stenosis, stent was put in 10 cases Among those filters,11 were permanent and 24 were temporary Follow up was made in 33 cases (3~30 months) Limb swelling subsided in 25 cases, after thrombosis syndrome developed in 8 cases Angiography performed in 18 cases found patent iliac veins in 8 cases and stenosis in 5, iliac vein occlusion in 3, and femoral vein occlusion in 2 cases Conclusion Our therapy complex is an effective treatment for subacute or chronic deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities
