Title: Three-dimensional dynamic contrast-enhanced MR angiography in the imaging of portal venous system
Abstract: Objective To evaluate 3D-DCE MRA in the imaging of portal venous system. Methods There were 52 patients with portal hypertension and 20 without liver cirrhosis. On a Philips Gyroscan T10-NT(1.0 Tesla) MR imaging system, 3D-DCE MRA was used to show the anatomy of portal venous system. Results The visualization rate for portal vein, splenic vein and superior mesenteric vein reached as high as 95.8 %, 91.2% and 90.3%, respectively. Esophageal-gastric varices were detected in 48 patients with portal hypertension. As perfusion of portal vein to liver was concerned, it was significantly better in the control group than in those who suffered from liver cirrhosis. Conclusion It indicates that the anatomical imaging of the portal venous system can be clearly revealed in 3D-DCE MRA.
