Title: Correlation between HDL-C subfractions and coronary heart disease
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the changes and clinical significances of HDL-C subclasses(HDL2-C,HDL3-C)in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)and the effect of HDL2/3-C on HDL-C.Methods:HDLC,HDL2-C and HDL3-C levels were detected in 135controls with normal coronary artery(control group)and 318 CHD patients(CHD group).CHD group included patients with stable angina pectoris(n=58),unstable angina pectoris(n=186)and acute myocardial infarction(n=74).Relationship between HDL-C subclasses and CHD as well as HDL-C were analysed.Result:Levels of HDL-C and HDL2-C in CHD group were significantly lower than those in control group(both P0.05).Correlation analysis showed that HDL2-C(r=0.915,P0.001)and HDL3-C(r=0.356,P0.001)were significantly associated with HDL-C in CHD group, especially HDL2-C.Conclusion:Lower levels of HDL-C and HDL2-C are significantly associated with CHD,which indicates that HDLC and HDL2-C may be protective factors in CHD.Lower level of HDL-C is mainly associated with decreased HDL2-C content in CHD patients.
