Title: Study on liquidbased thin-layer cytology for cervical cancer screening in clinic
Abstract: Objective To investigate the accuracy of liquidbased thin layer cytology for cervical cancer screening in clinic.Method This study screened 5 000 women come from the linic The cytologic diagnosis was perpormed using the Bethesda system(TBS) on the ThinPrep Cytology Test (TCT) slides. Two hundred cases with abnormal cervical cytologic results received colposcopic examinations and multiple biopsies. The results of cytologic screening compared with the results of histopathologic diagnosis. All the diagnosises were performed in an independent and blinded fashion. Results All the cytological finds compared with the histopathological results, the TCT slides were able to detect 100%(9/9)of squmous cell carcinoma(SCC),95%(38/40)high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions(HSIL) and 70.77%(92/130)low grade squamous intraepithelial lesions(LSIL).Conclusion The liquidbased ThinPrep Cytology Test showed a high sensitivity for the detection of high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions and squamous cell carcinoma. Women ranged 20 50years old should receive liquidbased cytologic screening regularly.
