Title: Reconstruction of Translation Process in View of Relevance Theory
Abstract: This paper is a tentative study of applying the relevance-theoretic approach to the reconstruction of translation process. It presents that from the perspective of Sperber Wilson's Relevance Theory,Gutt defined translation as a dynamic process of ostensive-inferential verbal(intralingual or interlingual) interpretation.Translation is a process of reconstruction in which the original should be correctly understood, translation expressions should be created and the version in other language should not have ambiguous meanings.A complicated triadic dynamic relationship exists among the writer, translator and readers as well as among the three texts:original text, schema text and translation.Translation is nothing but a process of searching for relevance, particularly optimal relevance,by both translator and reader.
