Title: Study on Relationship Between Expression of VEGF and Biology Characters in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To study the relationship between expression of VEGF mRNA,protein and clinicopathology in hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods The expression of VEGF mRNA and protein in 60 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma were detected by RT PCR and immunohistochemistry (ABC method) and the relationship between expression of VEGF and its clinicopathology was evaluated. Results The positive rates of VEGF mRNA,protein were 78 3%,81 3% in tumor tissues and they were significantly higher than that in normal liver tissue P 0 05).The expression of VEGF was correlated with the histologic grade and metastasis of tumor. The expression of VEGF mRNA and protein was closely positively related. Conclusions The results showed that the higher expression of VEGF mRNA and protein was associated with the higher malignant degree and more chances of metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma. VEGF plays an important role in growth of tumor.
