Title: Clinical analysis of 79 cases of retroperitoneoscopic ureterolithotomy
Abstract: 【Objective】 To evaluate the surgical techniques and clinical value of retroperitoneoscopic ureterolithotomy in treating renal ureteral calculus.【Methods】A retrospective study was accomplished on retroperi-toneoscopic ureterolithotomy treatment of 79 patients with ureteral calculi hospitalized from 2003 to 2008 in our department. 【Results】Of all the cases,77 patients underwent retroperitoneoscopic ureterolithotomy successfully, only 2 case converted to operation. The operation time was between 65 and 150 min with a mean 90 min,and estimated blood loss 30~60 mL with a mean of 40 mL No urinary leakage was found postoperatively. 58 cases gained the follow-up period of 2~36 months whose hydronephrosis and renal function improved via the examination of B-ultrasound and IVU. No ureteral stricture or recurrent calculi was found.【Conclusions】Retroperitoneoscopic pyeloithotomy and ureterolithotomy is safe, reliable and less invasive. It can gradually replace conventional open surgery in part.
