Title: Wavelet image compression techniques based on bit-plane adaptive binary arithmetic coding
Abstract: A wavelet image compression techniques based on bit-plane adaptive binary arithmetic coding is presented. With application of arithmetic coding method to bit-plane hierachy, a high-effective adaptive compression coding for the quantization coefficient after wavelet transform of the stationary image is carried out on the corresponding bit-plane according to the importance of the data. Thus the coding problem of the information source that the probability statistics is difficult to be carried out is effectively solved. Its compression rate is higher than the other coding methods.
