Title: Studies on Thermal and UV Curing Processes of Novel Polyurethane-Polyacrylate Hybrid Emulsion
Abstract: A new polyurethane-polyacrlate(PUA) hybrid emulsion was synthesized by using a multifunctional monomer trimethylol propane triacrylate(TMPTA).Thermal and UV curing methods were applied on the synthesized emulsion and its corresponding film respectively. The structure of PUA was characterized by FT-IR spectrum and the properties of emulsion were investigated. The CC conversion of thermal and UV curing systems were studied respectively. The properties of the cured films were also studied for the two curing systems. The results showed that the mechanical properties, water resistance, solvent resistance and chemical resistance were greatly improved after the films were cured. Moreover, compared with thermal cured films,UV cured films exhibited superior properties.
