Title: The correlation between endothelins-1 and echocardiogram parameters of cardiac function in heart failure
Abstract: Objectives To discuss the significance of endothelins 1(ET 1) in the progress of heart failure. Methods The plasma levels of ET 1 were tested by specific radio immunoassay and the echocardiogram parameters of cardiac function were obtained in different grade patients with heart failure. Results The plasma levels of ET 1 elevated with the worsening of heart failure (NYHA Classification). The plasma levels of ET 1 were negatively correlated with left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF)and fraction shortening (ΔD%) and positively correlated with left ventricl end systolie volumeml(LVSd) and left ventricle end diastolic volumeml (LVDd).Conclusion In progressing of heart failure,ET 1 has a close correlation with the cardiac function and echocardiogram parameters of cardiac function in heart failure.
