Title: Experimental study on the effect of high fat diet on hyperlipidemia in rats.
Abstract: Objective To experimentally observe the effect of ohigh fat diet on hyperlipidemia in rats. Methods Rats were fed by high fat diet for establishment of hyperlipidemia models .The levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG),high density lipoprotein (HDLC),and body-weight of the rats of hyperlipidemia model group were determined. Results The body-weight of rats in hyperlipidemia models group was lower than that of the control group, without showing significant difference (P0.05). The level ofTC was higher than that of the control group (P0.05). The levels of TG and HDL-C were lower significantly than that of the control group(P0.05,P0.01). Conclusion High fat diet might not lead to a rise of body-weight.The hyperlipidemia rat models established by feeding high fat diet are suitable for researches of hypercholesteremia and hypolipoproteinemia with high-density lipioprotein, not suitable for study on hypertriglyceridemia and mixed hyperlipoidemia.
