Title: The downexpression of Npas4 in the prefrontal cortex of the post-traumatic stress disorder rats
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression changes of Npas4 in prefrontal cortex of post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) rats. Methods The PTSD models were established by single prolonged stress paradigm(SPS),divided into four groups:SPSld,SPS3 d,SPS7d and SPS14 d groups, normal fed rats as a control group. The expressions of Npas4 protein and mRNA in prefrontal cortex were detected by immunocytochemistry,Western blot and real-time PCR.Results The expression levels of Npas4 protein and mRNA in prefrontal cortex were significantly decreased in SPS1 d,SPS3d and SPS7 d rats than in normal control rats, but upregulated in SPS14 d rats near to normal control rats. Conclusion The downexpression of Npas4 in prefrontal cortex might be related to the pathogenesis of PTSD.
