The resulting phases were phlogopite, phlogopite solid solutions and saponite-like hydrate. Phlogopite was obtained from a Ph100 composition. Phlogopite solid solutions were obtained in the compositional range from Ph35 up to Ph100. On the other hand, the hydrate was synthesized as a single phase from the Ph0 composition. In the compositional range up toPh40 the hydrate was obtained with phlogopite solid solutions. Basal spacings of phlogopite and phlogopite solid solutions were 10.168Å ±0.005Åat Ph100 and 10.068ű0.01Å at Ph35 in composition. The result from hydrothermal experiments is consistent with the composition ofphlogopite in natural occurrences.Read More
