A sm...The thermal and crystalline properties of the sintered Phlogopite mica/SiO2-B2O3-Al2O3-BaO-La2O3 glass blends with the weight fraction of mica from 0 to 100% have been investigated in this paper. A small amount of Phlogopite mica addition raises the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the sintered phlogopite mica/SiO2-B2O3-Al2O3-BaO-La2O3 glass blends. However, the CTE of the blends decreases as the mica contents higher than 10 wt%. Besides, the CTE of the blends can be modified by adjusting the weight fraction of mica. In this study, the range of CTE varies from 9.7 to 18.1×10−6 ºC−1. The crystalline phases of BaSiO3 and BaAl2Si2O8 are found in the sintered Phlogopite mica/SiO2-B2O3-Al2O3-BaO-La2O3 glass blends. The amount of BaSiO3 phase in the sintered blends is observed at a maximum while the mica contents at 10 wt%.
