Title: Implementation of a Traffic Survey and Feedback Program in Sapporo as a measure of TDM
Abstract: This research examined the concept, prospective role, meaning, and expected extension of a Traffic Survey and Feedback Program, one of the measures of TDM (traffic demand management) from various standpoints to find a solution for worsening traffic congestion. The Program focuses on changing people's traffic awareness that will lead to relaxation of traffic congestion. The authors created a traffic survey measure to conduct a pilot survey in Sapporo City. The survey resulted in about 10% reduction of the car share rate. The author reexamined the survey process by using the result and developed a new expert system that enables more systematic and effective feedback to survey participants who play a major role inthis research.
