Title: Canola Meal and Fish Meal in Turkey Starter Diets
Abstract: Canola meal was incorporated into turkey starter diets at levels of 0, 150, 300, and 450 g/kg with either 0, 60, or 120 g herring fish meal per kilogram. The diets were fed to Large White female poults from 7 to 42 days of age. The replacement of soybean meal by canola meal did not change live weights at 42 days. Fish meal at either 60 or 120 g/kg increased the final weights by 5.3%. Canola meal reduced and fish meal improved feed efficiency. No synergistic effect on growth occurred when canola meal was combined with fish meal.
