Title: ON THE QUESTION OF THE BIOLOGICAL DOSE EQUIVALENTS OF Co$sup 60$ GAMMA AND 200-Kv X RADIATION. PART II
Abstract: Forty rats each received a fractionated irradiation with 200 Kv x-rays and with Co/sup 60/- gamma -rays, respectively, on a 6 cm long region of the tail. Total doses of 8060 to 12660 r were given. On the 36th day after the first irradiation photographic evaluation of the experiment was done. Between 16,000 and 11,000 r gamma -rays produced a rise in the radiation effect. Some of the animals showed only a small reaction at a dose of 11,000 r. Comparing the effects of 206 Kv x rays and Co/sup 60/ gamma -rays, an RBE value of 0.73 to 0.75 for the Co/sup 60/- gamma -rays was estimated. (auth)
