Title: Bioenergetics of Various Weed Control Methods in Sorghum+Pigeonpea Intercropping
Abstract: An experiment on sorghum + pigeonpea intercropping was conducted at College of Agriculture Farm, Indore, during Kharif seasons of 1987 and 1988. The highest grain, straw, TMP, TSP energy and energy use efficiency were obtained with preemergence application of metolachlor 1.5 kg/ha followed by one intercultivation as compared to other treatments. However, the TMP/TSP energy ratio was maximum in metolachlor 1.5 kg/ha. On the contrary, the energy intensiveness was found to be just chemical weed control methods as compared to conventional methods.
