Title: Association studies of yield with quantitative and qualitative characters of fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.)
Abstract: The correlation between quantitative and qualitative characters of fennel on yield was estimated during the year 2000–01 and 2001–02. The yield had enormous positive correlation with plant height (cm), number of primary and secondary branches per plant, stem girth (cm), plant spread across the row, fresh and dry weight of plant (cm), days taken to 50 per cent flowering, days taken to maturity of umbels, number of umbels per plant, size of umbel (cm), number of seeds per umbel, germination (%), test weight (g), moisture per cent, nitrogen per cent, phosphorus per cent, potassium per cent, protein per cent and carbohydrate per cent
