Title: Evaluation of Induced and Spontaneous Exotic Mutants in Peas (Pisum Sativum L.)
Abstract: Ten X-ray induced mutants, their recombinants obtained at Bonn and 3 syontaneous mutants of Pisum were sown together with the initial line Dippes gelbe Victoria and a locally adapted commercial variety T 163 at Jabalpur. The strong, relaxed and weak fasciated mutants and recombinants had increased number of flowers, pods and seeds per plant but due to their low seed index could not surpass the commercial line T 163. The early flowering mutant 46C seems to be favourable for the semi-tropical conditions of India. The poor yielding afila mutants had the highest protein percentage.
