Title: Performance of New Herbicides against Phalaris minor in Wheat
Abstract: A field experiment for the control of Phalaris minor in wheat with new herbicides was conducted during rabi seasons of 1994–95 and 1995–96 at CCSHAU Regional Research Station, Kamal. P. minor was effectively controlled (66 to 94%) with either of herbicides i.e. diclofop 880, 1050 g/ha at 30 or 40 days after sowing or chlorotoluron 1000, 1500 g/ha al 40 days after sowing. Number of tillers was more in these treatments and attributed to higher yield, which was comparable to weed free plot. Further the grain yield was 26–39% higher in the above treatments as compared to weedy check. The population of P. minor was not affected by diflufenican.
