The report outlines the reasons for and policy implications of the emergence of a multi-scalar science policy and examines the international experiences of regional science and innovation policies. International case studies are then compared with the UK experience, particularly Regional Development Agency approaches to regional science policy since the controversial ‘DIAMOND’ decision. Finally, the report looks at issues relating to process and policy implementation at different spatial scales.Read More
