Title: The Cicadabird 'Coracina tenuirostris' in Western Australia: A recent record from the Kimberley region
Abstract: There are very few records of the Cicadabird Coracina tenuirostris from Western Australia. Here I report observations of an adult male and a female-type Cicadabird along the Upper Mitchell River, in the north-west of the Kimberley region of Western Australia, on 13 May 2010. The environment was a wide and well-timbered river bed running through open savanna. Other records of the species in Western Australia are reviewed. Published records of 10 specimens claimed to be of this species, from the Fitzroy River and Napier Broome Bay, appear not to be of the Cicadabird. The species appears to be absent from the extreme north-eastern Kimberley.
