Title: ‘La memoria en el pincel, la fama en la pluma’
Abstract: Cet article porte sur le processus de composition du Libro de retratos de Francisco Pacheco (1564-1644). Le lien entre portrait et biographie est illustré dans l'ouvrage par trois panégyriques consacrés aux « hommes illustres » : le roi Philippe II, l'humaniste Juan de Mal Lara et Fray Luis de Granada. L'analyse détaillée de ces textes et des lettres de Pacheco à ses amis érudits permet de conclure que Pacheco n'est pas l'auteur unique des panégyriques et du Libro de retratos. L'aspect le plus intéressant de cette rédaction collective, qui n'est pas surprenante au regard des pratiques de l'époque, est sans doute qu'elle permette d'avoir un aperçu de la variété des sources littéraires dont Pacheco et ses amis disposaient, et qui comprennent des livres, des anecdotes historiques, des hagiographies et un manuscrit humaniste.
