The groups Cytophaga-Flavobacterium (51) and β-Proteobacteria (50) were characterized by the largest number of rDNA sequences. A high contribution of sequences (especially in the β-Proteobacteria group) common to bacterioplankton of all the studied water bodies is indicative of a high plasticity of their metabolism, and also of their capability to adapt to various conditions of their occurrence and to the content of mineral nitrogen in the water of 0.29−1349.0 mg N/L.Read More
