Title: Nom d’auteur et identité littéraire : Louise Labé Lyonnaise. Sous quel nom être publiée en France au XVIe siècle ?
Abstract: résistance morale, qui font de ce problème du nom d'auteur un problème pour les femmes, bien au-delà du seul XVI e siècle, jusqu'à l'orée du XX e siècle 3 .Revenons au XVI e siècle et commençons par des chiffres.Aujourd'hui, dans le Dictionnaire des femmes créatrices aux Editions Des Femmes 4 en cours d'achèvement, il y a 44 entrées pour des femmes ayant eu une activité littéraire, imprimée ou manuscrite au XVI e siècle en France.Certaines n'ont écrit que quelques pages disséminées (Jeanne Gaillarde, Claude de Bectoz, Antoinette de Loynes, Charlotte de Minut, Jacqueline Stuard…) et peuvent difficilement avoir un statut d'auteur en l'état des connaissances, mais environ une trentaine d'entre elles ont une oeuvre conséquente (au moins un livre écrit sous leur nom).Comme l'a montré Susan Broomhall dans Women and the Book Trade in Sixteenth-Century France 5 , les textes disséminés constituent une part importante des écrits de femmes sous l'Ancien Régime et manifestent une des stratégies auctoriales qu'elles ont mises en oeuvre pour accéder au monde de l'édition, mais ils ne feront pas l'objet de l'enquête ici.Un autre corpus de référence pour cet article est La bibliographie des imprimés féminins de William Kemp, constituée en deux temps, 1488-1549 6 puis 1550-1574, (à laquelle il manque encore 25 ans pour clore le siècle), qui collecte 58 noms 7 , auxquels il faut donc ajouter une bonne poignée de noms pour les 25 dernières années du siècle, parmi lesquels Madeleine et Catherine Des Roches, Gabrielle de Coignard et Marie de Gournay parmi les grands noms, donc on se situe là autour de plus d'une soixantaine d'auteurs féminins.Ces 44 à 60 noms 8 sont quasi inconnus des histoires littéraires officielles à l'exception de quatre ou cinq d'entre eux : on enseigne, au mieux, depuis le milieu du XXe siècle, Marguerite de Navarre, Louise Labé, Pernette Du Guillet et, depuis une vingtaine d'années, Jeanne Flore et Hélisenne de Crenne.Le déficit est donc énorme entre réalité matérielle et conscience culturelle 9 .
