Title: Irradiation damage and recovery in molybdenum and tungsten
Abstract: Specimens of molybdenum and tungsten have been irradiated with pile neutrons at 30°C and at −196°C. The recovery of the increase in resistivity has been studied and processes have been observed with activation energies of 0·25 and 1·3 eV for molybdenum and with 0·5 and 1·7 eV for tungsten. A stored energy release of 0·4 cal/g from 50°C to 250°C has also been observed from molybdenum irradiated with 1·3 × 1019 n/cm2.
