Abstract:In this paper, Satellite measurements from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) onboard the Aqua platform are introduced, which is used to analy...In this paper, Satellite measurements from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) onboard the Aqua platform are introduced, which is used to analyze the radial sand ridge field of the South Yellow Sea. Both of the measurements can detect the location, extension and coverage of the ocean sand ridges. The tidal-current/sand-ridge interaction driven ocean optical changes are assessed and evaluated. The existence of sand ridges causes enhanced total suspended sediment(TSM) and the rate of the enhancement has a good relationship with the depth of the water above the sand ridges.Read More
