Title: Inhibition of the Corrosion of Mild Steel by Zinc Potassium Chromate
Abstract: AbstractAbstractThe inhibitive properties of solutions of potassium chromate and zinc potassium chromate have been compared. Both solutions anodically inhibited the corrosion of mild steel in the concentration range 10−2–10−3 M in the presence of chloride and sulphate ions, but only the solution of zinc potassium chromate was found to inhibit cathodically, uniler stmilar conditions, in the pH range 6·6–7·1. It was concluded that zinc potassium chromate is a more efficient inhibitor than potassium chromate.
