Title: Research of new process preparing potassium sulfate from phosphogypsum
Abstract: To improve the process of potassium sulphate prepared from phosphogypsum (under study, no product, only method) in ammonia solution, the influence of solvent such as Methanol, Methanol-ammonia on the yield of potassium oxide was studied. The result revealed that the system of ethanol and ammonia was optimal. Meanwhile, the process of potassium sulphate prepared from phosphogypsum in the system of ethanol and ammonia was also investigated. The optimum conditions was obtained:6% ethanol concentration of 25% ammonia solution reaction temperature 25 °C, reaction time 1.5h, liquid to solid ratio 5.0:1, charge ratio 1.15:1. Under this condition, obtained product of Potassium hydroxide mass fraction 41%, potassium hydroxide yields was about 75%.
